Today at Ewetopia Farms, we truly get to see that at our sheep farm, fall is both sheep breeding and lambing season. All day long we have lambs being born. We had a bad birthing today but I think we may have solved that problem. We also check up on how all the problem lambs are doing. And of course everyday chores still have to be done. As we head to the Coveralls to do our morning routines, we also get to see sheep breeding in progress as we introduce two new ewe lambs to one of our Dorset breeding groups. Plus we get to see the new lambs in the Coveralls as we put down fresh bedding. Lots happening today so I hope you'll be able to sit down and enjoy a piece of our life with us on our farm.
With sheep farming, there is always something new to learn. At Ewetopia Farms, we try to incorporate learning opportunities when we encounter them as we go through daily life on our working sheep farm. We attempt to show life as it truly is on our farm and to present things with a touch of humour. From lambing to breeding to selecting quality replacement lambs to removing manure to relaxing with the sheep - it is all part of our lives as Canadian sheep farmers!
